14th April 2019
Sunday
Work sheets are available for the children, later in the service.
Congregational Meeting
The session has called a congregational meeting for Sunday April 14 to present an application for a Capital Grant from the Ministry Development Committee of the PCV. The Board has been keen to place news signs on Batman Road and Main Road, both of which require a council permit, and a grant is the only realistic way forward at this point. We also want to include the cost for reverse cycle heating in the bottom half of the manse as the old heater has failed and can’t be repaired. It only needs to be a short meeting after morning tea to fulfil the formal process of the application.
For the Love of God
How the Church is Better & Worse Than You Imagined
Sunday April 14 at 3:00-4:30pm . P ower and Humility. This is the final part of this documentary series – a Level 2 event. It will be a casual, non-threatening event to invite a non-churched person to.
Mission’s Giving
In line with the decision made at the Annual Congregational meeting we no longer use the separate envelope ‘pocket’ for Missions’ Giving for our Gospel Partners. A tithe (10%) of all of our combined giving will be set aside for our Gospel Partners. If you traditionally supported missions via envelope system we now encourage you to combine your offering into one. Our expectation is that this new approach will result in greater financial support for our Gospel Partners. May God bless your generosity in the support of His work on earth.
Sunday School
The regular Sunday School program resumes next week , April 21 Resurrection Sunday but the Stepping Up Youth resume on the 28th .
Combined Good Friday Service
Friday April 19 at 9:30 to 10:15am , at the Eltham Town Square. Please arrive early as there will be limited space and come prepared to stand if you are able (the service will be an estimated 45 minutes). A great opportunity to show Christian unity and witness to the community and to invite friends and family along.
Volunteers Needed
We would like two people to be ushers on the day. They will need to be at the Town Square at 9am and be ready to hand out song sheets. Please talk to Don if you are able to do this.
Retiring Offering
On April 21 & 28 we will have the opportunity to give to our traditional Good Friday Appeal in support of the PCV Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee. As we are joining with other churches on Good Friday we will change our support for the HCCC ministries via a retiring offering.
Evergreens
Come along this Wednesday April 17 at 1:30pm, to hear Lori Fairchild speak on the topic: “Things I have been learning at EPC”. Join with us for afternoon tea afterwards.

Safe Church Training – Thanks

100 Day+ Bible Challenge
We trust you are enjoying the challenge and visiting parts of Scripture you may not have read for a while. If you got behind and feel you can’t catch up, just start with tomorrow’s reading and keep going from there. It is also OK to join in the challenge even if you haven’t already. The next half of the Challenge will be published before the end of April.
