Mens Events

We support or run four main events each year to bring EPC men together share our stories and learn what it means to be a man and a follower of Jesus.

Occasionally we add bike rides, spit-roast gatherings, movie nights or a social gathering at the Driving Range.

"LIFT"

(= Ladies In Fellowship Together) runs events throughout the year. Sign up to our weekly emails (under the NEWS tab) to be informed of upcoming events.

LIFT’s purpose is to provide opportunities for women to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, through:

  • Study of the Word of God
  • Fellowship together
  • Sharing the Gospel
  • Service
  • Prayer … 2 Peter 3:18

 Craft Group

“Come Sew Chat Knit”

Meets weekly in the church hall, Fridays from 1:00pm (or online during lockdown). Get in touch via the contact page if you would like to join us.

The Craft Group meets weekly to support and share craft ideas. Our ladies might work on their favourite projects or, from time to time, we work together on a special project eg. Christmas cards, for sale and the proceeds to Missions.

Our latest shared project is creating masks for giving to people who need them.

We’ve also knitted “Trauma Bears”. These colourful bears, with their pretty pouches, are being donated to Ambulance Victoria branches to give to traumatised children.

Hymn Singing

Please join us for a time of informal hymn singing on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. We meet at 2pm in the EPC hall, followed by afternoon tea.

It is great time to enjoy some of the older songs and build our friendships. For further information or if you need transport, contact Caroline Robertson.

Growth Groups

We have a number of groups of mixed ages that meet weekly for a time of fellowship, Bible study and prayer.

In 2023 we have an in-person, all age group on Monday nights, a Zoom group on Thursday nights and a Friday morning ladies group.

On Sunday’s after church there is a Family’s Growth Group

We regularly work through a book of the Bible together.

Please get in touch if you’d like to join.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School runs during the school terms during our 10:00am service.

All our Sunday school teachers and volunteers have a Working with Children Check & are Safe Church approved.

We use a curriculum called The Gospel Project , which teaches a Big Picture approach to the story of the Bible.

The Gospel Project take kids on a Christ-centred, chronological 3 year journey through Scripture. Kids will discover how the gospel unfolds from Genesis through Revelation.

AGE GROUPS

Our Sunday School age groups include a creche for the younger ones, kinder-prep, school years 1-3, years 4-6 and a youth program (“Stepping Up“) for years 7-8.

Here’s a snippet of what’s included:

Stepping Up

Stepping Up is our Sunday Youth Program. It’s a two-year course for students in year 7 and 8 that aims to help young people transition into church in a mature way. Recent studies and statistics reveal that these adolescent years are more often the time the people “drop away” from the church (Christian Research Association, 2015).

We have acknowledged this trend and sought to build a program that intentionally teaches people what church is, why it does the things it does and how to become part of church in their own right. It’s great to help disciple them (in a somewhat complicated stage of life!) to engage with God and His Word.

Each term of each year has a different focal topic that is taught through Bible Study and discussion.

  • Term 1: Who is Jesus?

    In year one, we study John’s Gospel using a discussion based study guide;

In year two, we study Mark’s Gospel using the Youth Version of Christianity Explored

  • Term 2: What is the church?

In year one, we study Church Life and the Sacraments using the Presbyterian Church of Victoria “See for Yourself” resource.

In year two, we study what Paul’s letter to the Ephesians says about Church life.

  • Term 3: Listen Up

In both years, we discover what sermons are, who they are for, why they are necessary and how to engage with them and what to do when that is hard. We spend four Sundays in this term sitting through the service together, taking notes during the sermon and then sharing our thoughts in a short debrief session. Both of the pastors of our church are involved in this part of the program.

  • Term 4: Service

Alongside the regular material for this term, we encourage the students to take an active role in our church family. We believe that through serving connections are made and a sense of belonging forms. There are 3 intentionally set aside weeks where regular classes are paused to give the opportunity for active service.

In year one, we study Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians.

In year two, we learn about who the Holy Spirit is using the “See for Yourself” resource.
