Today

Work sheets are available for the children, later in the service.

Congregational Meeting

The session is calling a congregational meeting for April 14 to present an application for a Capital Grant from the Ministry Development Committee of the PCV. The Board has been keen to place news signs on Batman Road and Main Road, both of which require a council permit, and a grant is the only realistic way forward at this point. We also want to include the cost for reverse cycle heating in the bottom half of the manse as the old heater has failed and can’t be repaired. It only needs to be a short meeting after morning tea to fulfil the formal process of the application.

Two Retiring Offerings

We have two special opportunities to give to ministries of mercy through a retiring offering over the next month.  1) Today there is the opportunity to support Samaritan’s Purse supply of vital emergency relief to people caught up in the devastation of cyclone Idai in Mozambique. This is possibly the worst weather related disaster in the Southern Hemisphere and the real death toll may never be known.  2) April 21 & 28  we will have the opportunity to give to our traditional Good Friday Appeal in support of the PCV Health and Community Chaplaincy Committee. As we are joining with other churches on Good Friday we will change our support for the HCCC ministries via a retiring offering.

Combined Good Friday Service

Friday April 19 at 9:30 to 10:15am, at the Eltham Town Square . Please arrive early as there will be limited space and come prepared to stand if you are able (the service will be an estimated 45 minutes). A great opportunity to show Christian unity and witness to the community and to invite friends and family along.

Thank You

Thank you to the congregation for the wonderful 90 th  birthday greetings, cake and cards. I feel very blessed to be in the EPC fellowship. Peter Huggett.

Safe Church Training – Thanks

Many thanks to all those who attended the Safe Church Advanced Training last Sunday afternoon, and to Fiona Bligh for running it.

For the Love of God

How the Church is Better & Worse Than You Imagined

Today at 3:00-4:30pm: Rich and Poor. This is the third of a four part documentary – a Level 2 event. It will be a casual, non-threatening event to invite a non-churched person to. Part 4 will be shown on next Sunday, April 14.

100 Day+ Bible Challenge

We trust you are enjoying the challenge and visiting parts of Scripture you may not have read for a while. If you got behind and feel you can’t catch up, just start with tomorrow’s reading and keep going from there. It is also OK to join in the challenge even if you haven’t already. The next half of the Challenge will be published before the end of April.

Church Membership

Two titles have been added to the bookshelves: Church Membership and What Makes a Healthy Church Member?
