4th November 2018

November Preaching Series: In November we will focus on our DNA as a church by reflecting on the Maturity Pathway of Encounter Jesus, Grow in Jesus, Serve Jesus and Influence for Jesus . Each week will be a different theme helping us think about our own walk as followers of Jesus as well as what we should be on about as a church.
Runham News:
Being in the Defence Force means a lot
of moving. After two years at EPC it has been decided to move Nathan to
another parish to expand his experience of parish life before taking up
his role as chaplain.
Evergreens: This Wednesday November 7 is our last Bible Study for the year. 1:30pm in the hall, followed by afternoon tea as usual. Our break up lunch will be held on November 21, with invitations now available.
Missions Afternoon Tea: Be encouraged and expand your view of God. Come along to hear from our Gospel Partners, Rhys and Rhondda Hall, who will be sharing about what God is doing in South Sudan. Delicious afternoon tea included. Saturday 24th November, 2.30pm in the church hall. Cost: free! Please put your name down on the sign up sheet in the foyer or RSVP to Jenni 9439 6071 if you’re coming so we know how many scones to bake.
Missions Giving : To contribute to EPC’s support of our various Gospel Partners, you can either: use the envelopes provided in the foyer; write “Missions” on an envelope and put into the offering bag, or use direct giving, marking your donation for Missions. Our Bank details are: BSB 033-058 A/C No: 380596.
Roster: Melody is about to start on the next church roster, which will cover the months of December and January. If you know you will be away over this period, please let Melody know as soon as possible. ALSO, if you know you will be around – especially for the main dates, and are willing to serve then, please let Melody know. We need more people to be on the crèche roster. If you have any queries, please speak to Melody.
EPC Blokes Night: Join us for a low key men’s night out with a spit roast dinner, Saturday, November 24 at 6:30pm. We also plan to have our resident busker providing us with music as we hang out together and enjoy our food. This is a great event to invite a non-churched friend to. Cost will be $15 per person and it would be a nice gesture to “shout” your non-churched friend. Generosity builds friendships!
Induction: The presbytery has set Andy’s induction into the parish for Friday November 16 at 7:30pm. This follows the congregation’s signing of the call to him and it will change his status from assistant minister to Don Elliott to an associate minister of the parish.
Craft Group Christmas Cards : Christmas is coming up and Craft Group, as their annual project, has made Christmas cards for sale. All profits will go to a mission project. See display in hall.
Bibles for the Persecuted: Thank you to those who participated in this fundraiser. The amount donated via the boxes this year was $486.10. This does not include any amount given online.
Working Bee: The Board of Management is organising a Working Bee on Saturday November 17. A list of jobs to be tackled, and materials needed is in the foyer. We need as many people as possible to help out, even for a short time. We will start at 9 am.
