11th November 2018
November 11: Remember the EPC team down at the Eltham Festival representing Jesus in the marketplace and following our vision to Spread Hope Through Jesus to Eltham and Beyond. Please be in prayer for them throughout the day.
Village 2 Village: In recent years we have had the privilege of helping young people from Kanini Mapperson’s home village in Kenya attend a Christian conference to learn and grow in God’s word. It takes only a few of our dollars to send someone to this week long camp so through your generosity we have provided for over 100 young people each year we have been involved. A retiring offering starts today. Look for the specially marked box. You are also welcome to use direct giving too, just label it V2V.
This Friday: Andy Buchan’s induction into the permanent role of associate pastor happens this Friday at 7:30pm. This is an important occasion in the life of this church.
Runham News: Nathan will continue his training internship at Pt Cook Presbyterian Church under Peter Owen’s leadership. Pt Cook PC began five years ago as a new church plant and meets in the Pt Cook Air Force Base chapel (RAAF Williams). Peter is a RAAF and police chaplain. We wish the Runhams all the best for this new placement which officially starts, Jan 1.
EPC Blokes Night: Join us for a low key men’s night out with a spit roast dinner, Saturday, November 24 at 6:30pm. We also plan to have our resident busker providing us with music as we hang out together and enjoy our food. This is a great event to invite a non-churched friend to. Cost will be $15 per person and it would be a nice gesture to “shout” your non-churched friend. Generosity builds friendships!
Working Bee: The Board of Management is organising a Working Bee on Saturday November 17. A list of jobs to be tackled, and materials needed is in the foyer. We need as many people as possible to help out, even for a short time. We will start at 9 am.
Open Table: Our next shared meal will be on November 15. More details next week. But put this date in your diary and plan to come. We’d love to see you.
Evergreens
Our break up lunch will be held on November 21, with invitations now available. Please let one of the team know if you are intending to come.
Missions Afternoon Tea
Be encouraged and expand your view of God. Come along to hear from our Gospel Partners, Rhys and Rhondda Hall, who will be sharing about what God is doing in South Sudan. Delicious afternoon tea included. Saturday November 24 at 2.30pm in the church hall. Cost: free! Please put your name down on the sign up sheet in the foyer or RSVP to Jenni A if you’re coming so we know how many scones to bake.
Missions Giving
To contribute to EPC’s support of our various Gospel Partners, you can either: use the envelopes provided in the foyer; write “Missions” on an envelope and put into the offering bag, or use direct giving, marking your donation for Missions. Our Bank details are: BSB 033-058 A/C No: 380596.
Roster
Melody is about to start on the next church roster, which will cover the months of December and January. If you know you will be away over this period, please let Melody know as soon as possible. ALSO, if you know you will be around – especially for the main dates, and are willing to serve then, please let Melody know. We need more people to be on the crèche roster. If you have any queries, please speak to Melody.
