DDT Tonight: Gospel Conversations – This 2-week workshop will help us learn how to have conversations about the deeper things of life with non-Christians: family, neighbours, work or sporting contacts and so on. With the Eltham Festival and Christmas coming up it is a really good time for us to get some encouragement and practice at having conversations that might lead to talking about Jesus. The second night will be Sunday Nov 6. Time: 7:00pm – 8:00pm in the hall.
Samaritans Purse Christmas Child Appeal: Thank you to those who have taken boxes for Samaritans purse Christmas child appeal. Next Sunday October 30th is collection Day for the shoeboxes. Anyone wishing to pay for postage only please see Maxine.
Men’s Breakfast: Our annual breakfast will be held at 8.30 am on 5 November at the Eltham Gateway. Our keynote speaker will be Bernie Powers on Islam’s Take on Jesus. Please contact Ian Courts to reserve your place . The cost will be $25 per head, half price for sons accompanying their fathers and EPC will pick up the cost for your invited guests.
Servanthood Roster: It’s time once again to be thinking of where, when and how you might serve. The new roster will cover the months of December, January and February. Because so many people take holidays during this time it is often difficult to put the roster together. Please be mindful of this when you give Melody the dates when you won’t be available. New helpers are always welcome, so if you haven’t been on the roster before, please talk to Melody about what is involved. Preferences need to be sent to Melody by Friday 4 th November.
Stage Light Appeal: Thank you for all who have responded so far. We have raised almost $1,200! This has allowed us to order the two LED spotlights, DMX controller and connecting cables. It would be great to be able to add the LED par cans to this (another $450). We can leave the final installation until next year if we need to.
Pastor’s Holidays: While Anne is visiting her parents in the US Don will be taking two weeks off. Please contact Andy or Josh regarding pastoral matters during this time.
Gardens: We would like to remind the children not to walk on the garden beds, especial up by the basketball hoop. If you can leave the pebbles in the garden and not play with them that would be appreciated too. Thank you.
Gingerbread House Workshop: Invite your family and friends to a fun gingerbread house building workshop at 10am on Saturday 3 December . Cost of each house is $20, and includes everything you need to take home a gorgeous edible Christmas treat. Make sure you grab an order form for the event on the entrance table. RSVP with money and completed order form to Anne Elliott or Andrea Henderson strictly by Sunday 13 November . Orders received after this date will incur the full cost of each house plus postage.
