MEMORY VERSE CHALLENGE

Kids, remember to come up to Andy with your verse from last week (Romans 8:1-2). Learn a memory verse during the week and share it with DON next Sunday to receive a prize. This week’s passage:  ^“ For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.” (Romans 8:14).

BOARD OF MANAGEMENT NOMINATIONS

Nominations for positions on the BOM will be accepted from Sunday 10th until 17th November . Four members will complete their terms this year, plus there are two vacancies that need to be filled.
Self explanatory nomination forms will be available next week. If we receive more nominations than positions available we will proceed with an election. Please carefully consider whether you could stand and assist with the smooth running of EPC.

EVERGREENS

When: Wednesday November 6 at 1:30pm. Bible study with Don.

GOSPEL PRAYER NIGHT

When: Wednesday November 6 …8pm @EPC

Why: This term we will focus our prayers on the Eltham Festival outreach and ask God to use it for His glory. To emphasise the importance of praying, all evening Growth Groups will be closed this week to make this our one night out. See Don for more details . For those who can stay after this, Andy would appreciate some help in preparing for the festival .

ELTHAM FESTIVAL

When: November 10

You’re invited to come and be involved at this year’s Eltham Festival Outreach  at our ‘Think Life Think Jesus’ tent. We need people willing to help with setup and pack up, ‘front line’ positions, gospel bracelets, and with a Prayer & Psalm reading spot. Consider Colossians 4:2-6  & 1 Peter 3:15 . Please speak to Andy if you would like to help or sign up for a timeslot in the foyer. 

NEXT ROSTER

Please contact Melody  with your preferences of how you would like to help out on the next roster, which will cover the months of December, January and February. This is possibly the hardest roster to fill because of holidays, so please let her know by November 8  if and when you will be available. New helpers are always welcome , especially for church cleaning, morning tea and  creche .  If you’ve not been on the roster before, please see Melody for details  of what is involved.

RELIGION IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE

When: November 15-16

Why: The Church & Nation Committee of the PCV is running Religion in the Public Square . There will be local and international presenters and the theme will  Faithfulness to Christ in a Hostile Culture.  Flyers are available or go to  religioninthepublicsquare.org

HOT WATER

The Board has replaced the failing hot water unit for the hall even though it was not within our maintenance budget. It was viewed as a health issue and needed to be done. Please note that the water at the kitchen sink is now very hot and we advise you to be careful.

CRAFT GROUP

Craft group have a table set up in the hall with Christmas cards for sale. All proceeds go to mission work. Enquiries, see Maggie.

LADIES EVENT

When: Friday November 29 … 7:30pm

Where: Phoenix & Co, Diamond Creek Road, Greensborough

Why: For the ladies of the church to come and enjoy some dessert and coffee together, just for fun. Please RSVP to Emily Graham. We’d love to see you there!

THANK YOU

Thank you to all the families that filled the 59 shoeboxes and to those who donated $240 for postage. Thank you also to the children who carried the shoeboxes out to the car.It was a fantastic effort from all of you. Forgotten Shoeboxes can be brought to church till the end of November. Maxine and Judy Flett.

$390 was raised at the Missions Breakfast.
