MEMORY VERSE CHALLENGE

Kids, remember to come up to Andy with your memory verse from last week (Romans 5:8). Learn a memory verse during the week and share it with him next Sunday before or after the service to receive a prize. This week’s passage: “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,    because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)

CHURCH PICNIC

When: Today … after church @ Westerfolds Park (Carpark 1)

Why: Fellowship with one another strengthens relationships as we unite in ministry together at EPC. See Don for more details.

OUTREACH INFLUENCE TEAM MEETING

When: October 29… 8pm @ EPC

Why: This is our inaugural meeting for the new structure of the way we do ministry here at EPC. This meeting is for the lead person, or key representative, from every ministry team at EPC. It will be an introductory meeting to help us understand how we will restructure for next year. We are still in prayer for who could be the team leader. GOSPEL PRAYER NIGHT

When: November 6 …8pm @EPC

Why: This term we will focus our prayers on the Eltham Festival outreach and ask God to use it for His glory. To emphasise the importance of praying, all evening Growth Groups will be closed this week to make this our one night out. See Don for more details.

NEXT ROSTER

Please have your preferences of how you would like to help out on the next roster, which will cover the months of December, January and February. This is possibly the hardest roster to fill because of holidays, so please let me know if and when you will be available. New helpers will always be welcome , especially for church cleaning, morning tea and creche. Please see Melody for details.

ELTHAM FESTIVAL

When: November 10

You’re invited to come and be involved at this year’s Eltham Festival Outreach at our ‘Think Life Think Jesus’ tent. We need people willing to help with setup and pack up, ‘front line’ positions, gospel bracelets, and with a Prayer & Psalm reading spot. Consider Colossians 4:2-6 & 1 Peter 3:15 . Please speak to Andy if you would like to help or sign up for a timeslot in the foyer. 

RELIGION IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE

When: November 15-16

Why: The Church & Nation Committee of the PCV is running Religion in the Public Square . There will be local and international presenters and the theme will  Faithfulness to Christ in a Hostile Culture.  Flyers are available or go to  religioninthepublicsquare.org

GARDENING TEAM

We will soon be entering a period of warmer and dryer weather. Please volunteer to water our gardens. Please see Andrea for more details

HOT WATER

The Board has replaced the failing hot water unit for the hall even though it was not within our maintenance budget. It was viewed as a health issue and needed to be done. Please note that the water at the kitchen sink is now very hot and we advise you to be careful.
