Ordination Service:
The Presbytery of Melbourne North will license and ordain Nathan Runham Friday, June 29 at 7:30pm. We will host the service here at EPC and provide supper for the event. Martin de Pyle will be the special preacher for the event.
Congregational Meeting:
There will be a congregational meeting on Sunday the June 17. John Wilson has been appointed by the presbytery to take us through the processes of changing Andy Buchan’s status from assistant to associate via a formal Call. Please mark this date in your diary.
Next DDT series:
The next Deeper Discipleship training course will be a DVD series, Discipleship Explored.
This is an 8 week program which we are going to break into sections. The first dates are June 17 & 24 and then July 15 & 22. Then we plan to do 4-5 weeks of Jesus the Game Changer series for variety before returning to the remainder of the discipleship course. Jesus the Game Changer will be a great opportunity to invite non-churched people to so it might be good to start praying about who you could invite along.
Church directory:
It’s time to produce a new church directory. Melody will be emailing everyone individually to seek your permission to print your details, and to ask you to either confirm that she has the correct information or supply her with any additional or alternative information. Some new photos will need to be taken, especially of families with young children.
Open Table:
Tonight at 5:30 pm on June 3. It’s Pasta night.
Evergreens:
We meet again this Wednesday, June 6 for a Bible Study, afternoon tea and a time of fellowship. All are Welcome – 1:30 pm in the hall.
LIFT:
The next LIFT event will be a Soup and Movie Night on Friday June 22 , at 7pm in the hall. The movie, “ The Case for Christ ” is a good event to invite friends to. Invitations will follow, but please talk to Marie Van Ravesteyn if you have any queries. Please save the date.
Colin Buchanan:
Valley Presbyterian Church & Plenty Valley Christian College are hosting a Colin Buchanan concert on Sunday June 17 at 3:30pm. It will pay to book early if you want to go. Flyers are on the tables in the foyer with the information you need.
For the Love of God:
The Centre for Public Christianity has produced a documentary on the contribution of the church to our world. The subtitle is; How the church is better and worse than you ever imagined. There will be a screening at Village Doncaster, Wednesday evening, June 20. A number of us could go along as an EPC outing. Go to betterandworse.film for more information.
