Pastoral Care DDT:

As a result of the voting process we conducted late 2017 we have 6 people who are willing to come onto the Pastoral Care Team. The final step in this process is to attend training sessions to equip them for the task. While the focus will be on our Pastoral Care Team everyone is welcome to attend this 5 week workshop as well will be dealing with many basic skills to help us be a caring community. We will include material from the Good Listening=Good Helping Deeper Disciple Training course we have run before. The designated dates for the Pastoral Care DDT are March 18 & 25, April 15, 22, 29 – Sunday evenings at 7:30pm.

Youth Group:

We meet in the church  this Sunday afternoon at 4 pm for fun and a topical study on a contemporary issue. It would be great to have your families join in for Open Table afterwards! Don Elliott and James Bligh will be joining Rachael as leaders this year. Thanks to Matt Napper for his commitment as a leader las year. Changes at work have forced him to reduce his ministry load for 2018.

Evergreens:

We will meet again this Wednesday March 7, for a Bible Study with Don, followed by afternoon tea as usual. All are welcome. Please see Sue, Nola or Marie if you have any questions.
LIFT:

Our women’s ministry – L adies I n F ellowship T ogether is re-launching this year with a dinner at Nongkhai Thai Eltham on Saturday March 10 at 7 pm. Please RSVP via the CONNECT form or on the sign-up sheet in the foyer so that a booking can be made. We look forward to a fun evening of fellowship with the ladies of Eltham PC.

Working Bee:

Please keep Saturday March 17 free for the Working Bee. Details of jobs to be undertaken are on display in the foyer. There is quite a bit to be done, so please make it a priority to come, even if only for a short time. Jobs include the washing of windows, removal of cobwebs, weeding, trimming of bushes; cleaning roof and gutters, storm water drains and pits, resetting sleepers and pavers, and other items. A list of jobs with tools required is available in the foyer.

Roll Revision:

The Session is in the process of revising and updating the church rolls. A major reason for this is that we plan to put a motion at the next Annual Congregational Meeting to start procedures to change Andy Buchan’s status from assistant to associate minister. This can only happen through a “Call” process which is based on the votes of the official Communicant Members. This is a good time to think about official membership and being able to participate in this important process. Please see Don or Andy or one of the elders if you would like to be on the Communicant’s roll.

Good Friday:

The Session agreed to accept an invitation to join with three other churches (Eltham Baptist, The Vine Baptist Hurstbridge, and Southern Cross Community Church) for a combined service on Good Friday. We have the strong support of the local mayor who is advocating the erection of a large cross in Eltham the week or so before. It is a good way to show Christian unity and witness in our community. We are still considering whether to meet back here for morning tea afterwards. More details to follow.

Open Table:

Tonight, March 4 at 5:30 pm. Please see Taimi if you are able to help with setting up or packing away afterwards. The invitation for next Term’s Open Table are available on the foyer table.
