Good Friday Service: Our special service for Good Friday starts at 9:30am. This is a great opportunity to invite people to come and hear something about why the death of Jesus is central to what we believe about Him. The message will be from the ancient prophesy of Isaiah 53. On Resurrection Sunday Andy will be speaking from the same chapter to complete the message of Jesus crucified and risen.

Word In Song Music Conference: Saturday, 13th May, 2017, St Hilary’s Anglican Church (12 John St, Kew). This conference is supported by EMU music.  “A chance to be encouraged and refreshed, to hear from the Bible, and to grow in practical skills for music ministry in your church.” It’s open to anyone, with workshops on singing, song writing, playing in bands, and understanding music from a biblical perspective. Visit www.emumusic.com to register.

Easter Chocolate: The Ivory Coast region of Africa is the major source of cocoa used in chocolate products. Much of this is harvested by child labour, very often due to human trafficking. Stop the Traffik is led by a coalition of churches and community groups. Its grass roots campaigns have brought about much awareness and huge positive response from major chocolate manufacturers.
See http://stopthetraffik.com.au/chocolate/ for fascinating information and a Good Egg guide. This year ‘Thank You’ cards are being distributed to Aldi and Haighs, who only use certified cocoa. Also to Coles and Woolworths to thank them for responding positively to the ‘please change’ cards of previous years. There is, also, a postcard campaign to Darrell Lea who have taken no public action. Cards are available in the foyer.

Prayer Group: Jesus told us to make disciples “as we are going” (Matt 28:19-20) and to “ask the Lord of the harvest to send labourers into His harvest” (Matt 9:37-38). This work is advanced on our knees. The focus of this group is to being praying for people in our individual neighbourhoods. We would love you to join us in prayer for half an hour each Thursday (at Ian Sandham’s in Eltham – 4:30pm.) Call Frank Mapperson on 0432 743 673 if you can come or have questions.

DDT 2017: At long last we have a list of workshops for this year’s Deeper Discipleship Training events. The first event in Term Two is: Bibway: A Road Map to the Bible. Pt1– April 30:  A Theological Overview. Pt2—May 21:  A Historical Overview. This workshop is especially for anyone who has a teaching ministry at EPC, and to make it easier for Sunday School teachers to attend, we are planning to run them on Sunday afternoons rather than evenings.

Working Bee: Please set aside some time to help out at the Working Bee on Saturday 29 th April. We will start at around 9 am. Jobs to be done include: planting at the front of the property on Batman Road, windows, weeding, and general maintenance. Morning Tea will be served, so if you could help with that, please let Melody know.
