12th March 2017

Street Parking: With more units in Batman Road there are an increasing number of cars parked on the street and Sunday mornings can become an issue for the neighbours, particularly where there is a crest on the road just north of our property which becomes like a blind one-way street when cars are parked on both sides. As a courtesy to our neighbours it really helps if we make an effort to park only on the church side of the street . This is a good principle to follow whenever we attend a meeting or event on our property. Let’s do the best we can to be good neighbours and not make Batman Rd an unnecessarily difficult street for ourselves and others.

Open Table: Open Table is a chance to connect with each other over a catered meal. We plan to hold this twice each term, in the hall. Please come and eat; bring your family, friends and neighbours. The next meal will be held on the 26th March at 5.30pm in the Hall. Baked Potatoes are on the menu with loads of fillings choices! Please RSVP using the Connect Form inside your notice sheet. How much is it? $6 for adults; $4 for children; under 3s are free.

Open Table: We need a group of people to help set up and pack up. There are tables and chairs that need manoeuvring. The organising team would love some more faces too, and you don’t need to be a cook to join!  If you would like to be a part of the set up/pack up team or the organising team please fill out the Connect Form accordingly.

Evergreens: Come along at 1:30 pm on Wednesday 15 th March, to hear Jean Wilson tell her life story. Afternoon tea follows as usual.

Licencing & Ordination: Andy Buchan’s licencing and ordination will be held at EPC on Friday 21 st April at 7:30 pm.

Garden Maintenance: Without Gerard Punt working on the property almost every week the Board has produced a Maintenance Chart with the idea that people could volunteer some time whenever it suits them. Caring for the property benefits us all and helps create a positive impression for visitors. On the clipboard in the foyer various tasks are listed with general guidelines for how often they need doing . Included is a weekly calendar to help keep track of when tasks were last done. Please talk to Don if you need more information.

Annual Reports: This year’s ACM has been set for April 23 . All reports need to be presented to the Session before they are printed and distributed so we recommend that all ministry reports be ready to table at the Session meeting to be held March 21 . These reports are an important way of informing the wider congregation of what happened at EPC in 2016. Please forward these to either Don or Melody.

Op Shop Formal: This is a PYV event to be held at Donvale Presbyterian Church, 5 McGowans Road, Donvale, on 25 th March. The cost is $12. Replies to pyv.org.au by March 18. All funds raised will be used by PYV’s 2017 mission team to Malawi

Pleasant Sunday Afternoon: Diamond Creek Uniting Church is holding a concert in aid of the Elizabeth Nursery School in Malawi . Please see the flyer on the table in the foyer.

Future Events: The Board will hold a Working Bee on Saturday 29 th April. Please put this date in your diaries now.
