Army: December 18th will be Josh & Sybille Bouzanquet’s last formal Sunday with us. As well as being the last time Josh preaches for us there will be a special part of the service conducted by Martin de Pyle where Josh will be promoted to the rank of captain as part of his final step to full time army chaplaincy.

Air Force: Next year Nathan Runham and family will be joining us at EPC. He will be full time at the College in 2017, then he will do his two year internship with us as part of the leadership team. Nathan, who is currently a Flight Lieutenant in the Air Force is making a career change into chaplaincy for the Air Force.

Navy: Former EPC member, Max Walker, is currently serving as chaplain on Australia’s largest ship, HMAS Canberra. Next year he is moving to HMAS Albatross near Nowra. It is Australia’s largest operational Naval establishment and supports three Naval Air Squadrons.

Lighting: Thank you to all who contributed to this special appeal. We now have all the light we were planning for.

Village2Village: Thanks to everyone’s generosity for raising $525 for this appeal. This means that we will be sponsoring about 130 young people to attend the AIM conference. This investment in their lives will bless them and their communities for years to come.

Considering Membership? Following on from eldership training earlier in the year the Session has decided to hold elections early in February 2017. Because voting for elders is a very important matter only those who are formally ‘Communicant Members’ of the congregation are allowed to participate in the voting. Talk to Andy or Don if you would like to become a member before we vote for new elders next year.

Letterbox Drop: We have more fliers advertising our Carols Event and Christmas Day service. Please talk to Andy if you are able to help with the distribution of these fliers.

Indoor Carols – 10th December:  We’d like a team to be involved in setup, catering (sausage sizzle), and pack up for this event. Please speak to Andy if you can help.

Safe Church Training: The next Basic Training session is now open for registration – this is the final session to be held for 2016 and will be delivered in person by the Safe Church Facilitator. It will be held at THE SCOTS’ CHURCH – ROBERT WHITE HALL , 156 Collins Street Melbourne on Thursday 1st December 2016- 6pm – 9pm . Register your attendance up to 48 hours prior by  email  or text to SCU – 0499 090 449.

mainly music: We are encouraged by the great response last week – we very quickly sold all the Christmas books!  If you purchased one to write a message for one of our families, please return it to us by next Sunday (4 th December).  We are also looking for a volunteer to help by co-ordinating our morning tea roster each term.  Please chat to Marie or Emily or another team member to find out more.  Also, if you can help by providing morning tea once a term, or if you are interested in finding out about other ways to be part of this ministry, we’d love to hear from you J. Thank you!

Bookstall: We have a selection of Christian books available for purchase in the hall.  Great for Christmas gift ideas, or some summer reading. There is a range of material – personal and family devotional books, biographies, books on various issues of interest or tricky questions, books for all ages – young children, teens and youth, and adults.  The bookstall will be available until the end of December, so enjoy having a browse and maybe saving you a trip out to Koorong!
