On the Road Conference - Geelong

Hi ladies,
On the Road Conference is on again! If you missed out last time, you still have a chance to go!
The topic this year is Discipleship, and Anna Harris from Ebenezer will be speaking to women from 2 Timothy 1 & 2 on what discipleship means for us today. The conference will also include 3 workshop options: Discipling New Christians run by Nat Horman, Everyday Discipleship run by Kathryn Gatt and Difficult Discipleship run by Nicole Rolley.
On the Road is a fantastic opportunity to gather together with Christian women from around the state and engage in faithful Bible teaching by women, for women. Tickets are $45 or $30 for BYO food. Bookings close on 1st September.
There are a few women from EPC who are keen to go down to Geelong together, so let Bec know if you've booked and we can arrange carpooling. It's sure to be a very encouraging day, and the trip down and back will make it even more fun!
If you'd like more info please email administration@elthampc.org.au
EPC Gardening Bee - Saturday 31 August
Spring is almost upon us and it's time to do a tidy up of the EPC gardens. This will include weeding and some light pruning. Starting at 9am, all are welcome, please bring gardening gloves, a small bucket, a hat, and any hand tools that will help. Morning tea will be provided.
Samaritans Purse: Christmas Shoe Boxes
The time is approaching when we will be filling shoeboxes for children in various countries. Last year we sent 110 boxes overseas through Samaritan’s Purse.
Please start looking for items to put in these boxes. It is a hands-on way for you to bless children in need across the world by filling shoeboxes with special things that mean so much to the children who will receive them, toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and fun gifts. Samaritan’s Purse distributes them in the name of Jesus Christ to children living in vulnerable situations.
If you are not able to fill a box, but would like to participate, donations (individual items for a box or
money are both acceptable) can be given to Sheila and she’ll make up extra boxes.
There are a few boxes on the table in the church foyer and leaflets we had left from last year, we will
have some more ready for next week.
After receiving a shoebox gift, many children have the opportunity to enroll in The Greatest Journey – a dynamic, 12-lesson Bible study course that guides children through what it means to faithfully follow Jesus Christ. Please share in prayer for the children and their families who will receive this delightful gift.
The boxes will be collected on Sunday October 13 so don’t delay.
