Hi everyone,
Praise God that we can meet once again – I’m looking forward to seeing you there on Sunday. You’ll see details below about booking in (do that today!), Eldership training, food share, a quick word from Travis and news about a guest preacher.

A Note From Travis
On top of the normal ups and downs of life we each add to our list Covid related concerns and stresses too. Perhaps it’s health pressures, financial, educational, family or a combination of pressures you’re facing.
I’m sure we are all facing pressures at church as well. You may be disappointed our meetings during the week and on Sunday can’t get back to normal. You might be feeling apprehensive about returning to church in person. You may be frustrated that you can’t go to church at a time that suits you. You may be just sad and missing your friends. For such a time as this we need a timely reminder about love.
Jesus said, as I’m sure you well know, that all people will know that we are his followers by our love for one another. He’s talking about Christians loving Christians. So what Jesus is saying is that when we love each other we are following his example and making him known to the rest of Eltham.
Here’s some practical ways we can love each other at the moment. I’m sure you’ve got some other good suggestions too!
- Drop off a meal to someone in need
- Make a phone call or two
- Pray for each other
- Go for a walk with one another
- Meet for coffee
- Zoom another family for a fun Kahoot game
- Shop for someone that’s unable to get out
- Encourage your pastors, elders, team leaders, pastoral carers
- Put your hand up to serve on Sundays
- Plan to come along to the afternoon service instead of the morning, to allow others to come
- Be patient under pressure
- Be slow to get angry and quick to listen in your conversations
- Say sorry if you make a mistake
To your list add love. Love for your Christian family. May Eltham and abroad come to know Christ through our love for one another.
– Travis Moroney.

but also to the interests of others.”– Philippians 2:3-4
