Memory Verse Challenge

Kids, remember to come up to Andy with your memory verse from last week (Romans 4:25). Learn a memory verse during the week and share it with him next Sunday before or after the service to receive a prize. This week’s passage:  “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”  Romans 5:1.

October 16

This Wednesday Evergreens  will be viewing a very interesting movie, titled “Life in Outer Mongolia”. It shows the challenges that face a family of missionaries who take the Gospel to the people of Outer Mongolia. 1:30pm in the hall, afternoon tea as usual. Questions? See Sue.

October 17

Young Adults  resumes at Andy’s and Taimi’s place at 7:45pm. Please let us know if you’d like to come along this term.

October 18

Bundy Youth this week is a small groups night, from 7-9:30pm.

October 20

There will be a short meeting for Sunday School Teachers and Parents after morning tea, for information and feedback on our Sunday School, Stepping Up Youth and Youth Group programs looking at 2019 and forward to 2020. It would be great to have as many teachers and parents there as possible.

October 26

The Missions Support Group are hosting a missions  breakfast , with the speaker being Fiona Baird, Director of Elam Ministries Australia. Invitations and a sign-up sheet are on the table in the foyer. Starts at 8:30am.

October 27

1)During the service Martin and Sabine will be officially farewelled as Martin begins a new phase of ministry as part time supply at Footscray PC.

2) Collection date for Samaritans Purse Christmas Child Appeal . The shoe boxes can be filled for boys and girls ages 2 to 4 years, 5 to 9 years and 10 to 14 years. There are brochures to explain the items which can be packed in the boxes. If you do not wish to pack a box but would donate money for the sending of these boxes overseas the money would be accepted thankfully. Please Contact Maxine Fowler or Judy Flett for any questions.

3) We are planning to have a BYO picnic after church. It will most likely be at Westerfolds. Please plan to join us for a fun and casual outing together.

October 29 

We will have an inaugural meeting of the Outreach Influence Team . This involves the lead person, or key representative, from every ministry team at EPC. It will be an introductory meeting to help us understand how we will restructure for next year. We are still in prayer for who could be the team leader. Please read our handout available on the table or go to the news page on the internet and look up Organic Outreach Introduction.

November 6

A church wide Gospel Prayer Night  starting at 8:00pm, when we will focus our prayers on the Eltham Festival outreach and ask God to use it for His glory. To emphasise the importance of praying, all evening Growth Groups will be closed this week to make this our one night out.

November 10

You’re invited to come and be involved at this year’s Eltham Festival Outreach at our ‘Think Life Think Jesus’ tent. We need people willing to help with setup and pack up, ‘front line’ positions, gospel bracelets, and with a Prayer & Psalm reading spot. Please speak to Andy if you would like to help or sign up for a timeslot in the foyer.  Consider Colossians 4:2-6 & 1 Peter 3:15.

November 15-16

The Church & Nation Committee of the PCV is running Religion in the Public Square

this major event in. There will be local and international presenters and the theme will  Faithfulness to Christ in a Hostile Culture.  Flyers are available or go to  religioninthepublicsquare.org

November 30

The Board of Management have set this date for our next Working Bee . There is a long list of things to do to keep our property maintained and in presentable condition.

Gardening Team

The church garden is entering a period of easy maintenance, so the gardening team would like to go out into the community to assist someone in need. If you have a friend, relative, or neighbour you believe would like some gardening work done, please speak with Andrea Henderson.
