Sunday morning

During our service this Sunday, Ian Sandham and George Robertson are becoming formal members of EPC.

Thank you

The Open Table team did a great job in providing wonderful choices of soups for our luncheon last week. We appreciate the love and care with which they provided for us and created the opportunity to spend more time together than we normally might do on a Sunday.

Congregational meeting

There will be a congregational meeting after morning tea next Sunday ( September 8 ) to explain the  Organic Outreach  model we are adopting for EPC. This not only involves a restructure in the way we set up our ministries and link everything we do in a more coordinate way but it also involves a cultural change in the way think about our outreach temperature as a church and individually. This restructure is only just the starting point that provides the foundation for ongoing refinement as we seek to honour Jesus and be effective in drawing people to Him.

Fuel for Father’s Day

Missionary Aviation Fellowship are having a special fund-raising event based around Father’s Day. They have constant demands for aviation fuel which is the life blood of their work. $50 fills one jerrycan with fuel which allows for 20 minutes of flying. For isolated communities, it replaces days of travel on foot. These short flights have saved many lives. Our mission partners, Aaron and Katie Rigg, are part of the MAF team.

New Books

Thanks to a donation, we’ve been able to add to our collection of books on the topic of Biblical Sexuality – like the ones we’ve had on the bookstall recently.

Wanted

We’re looking for a vacuum cleaner to replace the one in the Portable. If you have one lying around, that you are no longer using, it would be great to have it in the Portable to clean up after Sunday School. Please see Melody if you can help. Thank you.

Memory Verse Challenge

Kids, remember to come up to Andy with your memory verse from last week (Romans 1:16). Learn a memory verse during the week and share it with him next Sunday before or after the service to receive a prize. This week’s passage will be  Romans 1:17 .

Evergreens

Andy will lead us in a Bible study this Wednesday, September 4, starting at 1:30pm and followed by afternoon tea as usual. All welcome.

Missions Breakfast

The Missions Support Group are planning a breakfast on October 26, with the speaker being Fiona Baird, Director of Elam Ministries Australia. More details to follow.

Film Screening

“Unplanned” is the story of Abby Johnson, an abortion clinic director who changed to be pro-life. It is being shown at Watergardens in September. Use the following link to find information about the film https://fan-force.com/screenings/unplanned-hoyts-cinemas-watergardens/ or go to the fan-force.com website for screenings at other venues, including Frankston, Docklands, Geelong, Eastland, Northland. Screenings will depend on enough people booking tickets. The film is not for children as the story is disturbing.

Garden Team notice

We will meet again next Saturday, September 7 at 10am, to work on the gardens. Help us to keep up with the weeds that are growing faster than we can get to them. As usual, morning tea will be provided. Everyone is welcome to come along and help.

Young Adults

Anyone in year 12 and over – Thursdays, 7:45pm at Andy & Taimi’s place.

Youth Group

Friday August 30 is a Small Groups Night for Youth Group. 7:00-9:30pm at Bundy. (Starting with dinner).  Please see Andy if you need a lift.
