Treasurer: After many faithful years as our treasurer, David Graham, is standing down. He plans to finish at the end of October and provide a 2 month handover period for the new treasurer. David has a good working system in place ready for someone else to step into. (Weekly banking of the offering is not part of the treasurer’s duties.) If you would like to find out more about what is involved please talk to David. If you think you would like to serve in this way please talk to Don Elliott.
Gardening Team: The Board has asked Andrea Henderson to be the co-ordinator for a gardening team to take care of our property so that it presents well and looks cared for. If you are able to serve by being part of this team please talk to Andrea.
Community Connection Team Meets this Tuesday night (31st July) 8pm at the Buchans. Please speak to Andy for further info.
Jesus the Game Changer Curious about Jesus? Come and find out more. These sessions start on Sunday 5th August. 3:00pm – 4:00pm, and continue every Sunday in August. Printed invitations are now available. As we are praying that some of the mainly music parents might come we want to be able to offer a crèche during that time. If you are able to help with crèche please talk to Andy.
Board News: 1) Thanks to a generous donation the Board of Management has been able to proceed with two important projects that it had on hold. A new 90cm gas oven has been installed in the kitchen and a 2nd AC unit will be installed soon to help the existing one keep the hall cool on hot days and warm on cold days. They will become our main heating and cooling for the hall.
2) A computer has been donated for the hall and we are in the process of setting that up for better multimedia presentations.
3) External LED lights have replaced the old security lighting with the addition of new lighting in the car park. 4) Someone was hired to clean all the windows and they look great.
5) An outside awning is soon to be placed on the main office windows and the old curtains will be removed.
6) The manse is getting an overdue pergola upgrade as part of a series of improvements to care for the building and keep it in good condition.
7) The Board has ordered a TV to replace the data projector in the hall.
We thank the Board for their care for our property and we are especially thankful to the generous donation that allows us to make some major improvements to the hall. Our annual budget has certain limitations and gifts like this are an extra blessing to help us make genuine improvements to our facilities.
Prison Ministry in Malawi John and Sue Steendam are heading to Malawi again in August. Please keep them in your prayers as they make preparations for this and seek funding. You can support this ministry of mercy financially; either via a box in the foyer, or with an electronic funds transfer to the church’s Westpac account.

Apart from prison ministry, Sue will work 2 mornings a week with a group of about 20/30 ladies living in villages around the Orbus area. One morning they do a Bible study. The other morning is for craft.
Open Table with a difference! Ever wondered what Open Table is but never been able to attend? Come along today. There will be a small morning tea immediately after the service and lunch will follow at about 12.30pm. We will be enjoying soup provided by members of the team which will include options that cater for those who can’t eat gluten, dairy or meat (plus those who can!). A gold coin donation will allow you a bottomless mug of soup, with cookies and tea/coffee to follow.
