Pastoral Care Team:

At the end of last year we held an election for new members to add to our Pastoral Care Team. Those who received the most votes went through a training course recently and their appointments have now been formally approved by Session.  Today we will introduce the new team members and pray for them. Each Pastoral Carer will work with an elder as they have the responsibility to watch over the pastoral needs of a designated list of church members. You will be hearing from your care team over the next few weeks.
Youth Group:

Next Sunday we meet again for fun, fellowship and reflection of how God’s Word applies to our lives. See you all at 4:00pm, Sunday 27th.

Birthday:

May 10, 1958, is the official birthday of EPC, when it was declared to be a congregation. We decided to hold over our 60th birthday celebration to Sunday the 27th.  There will be a big cake for morning tea!  If we are looking for more reasons to celebrate, March 22 next year will be the 60th birthday for the opening of this building.
Next DDT series:

The next Deeper Discipleship training course will be a DVD series,  Discipleship Explored. It is an 8 week program which we are going to break into sections. The first dates are June 17 & 24 and then July 15 & 22. Then we plan to do 4-5 weeks of  Jesus the Game Changer  series for variety before returning to the remainder of the discipleship course.  Jesus the Game Changer  will be a great opportunity to invite non-churched people to so it might be good to start praying about who you could invite along.

Open Table:

Come along at 5:30 pm on June 3 for the next Open Table. This time it’s a Pasta night , with all you can eat for $6 (adults) $4 (kids). Under 3s eat free. Just a reminder that there are always Gluten, dairy and meat-free options available. Please let Taimi know in advance if you will be coming – either use the CONNECT Form and put it in the box, text to 0403 773 805 or email to opentable@elthampc.com.au     Open Table is a way to make your friends our friends.

LIFT:

The next LIFT event will be a Soup and Movie Night on Friday June 22, at 7pm in the hall. The movie, “ The Case for Christ ” is a good event to invite friends to. Invitations will follow, but please ask Marie Van Ravesteyn if you have any queries. Please save the date.

Safe Church Training:

Printed copies of the Safe Church Refresher course are available on the foyer table, to take and read. An updated version of the Policy, Procedure and Practice Manual is available in the hall.

Colin Buchanan:  Valley Presbyterian Church & Plenty Valley Christian College are hosting a Colin Buchanan concert on Sunday June 17 at 3:30pm. It will pay to book early if you want to go. Flyers are on the tables in the foyer with the information you need.
Men’s Convention:   The 20th Men’s Convention is next Friday and Saturday May 25-26 . Main speakers are Murray Capill from the Reformed Theological College and Carl Beech from Christian Vision for Men. Former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, John Anderson, will be the keynote speaker Friday evening. This event is a key event for EPC men. There are options to attend just parts of the event if you can’t attend it all. Sign up online. Registration must be in by tomorrow, May 21 if you want to include Saturday’s lunch .

For the Love of God:  The Centre for Public Christianity has produced a documentary on the contribution of the church to our world. The subtitle is; How the church is better and worse than you ever imagined. There will be a screening at Village Doncaster, Wednesday evening, June 20. It would be great if a number of us could go along as an EPC outing. Go to  betterandworse.film for more information.
