Evening Growth Groups:

This year we are starting out with 3 evening groups with the hope of adding a Wednesday group sometime in Term 2. The starting week for the groups will be  Monday, February 26 . The list is available for viewing in the foyer but you can also expect to be contacted by a leader of your group. Please note that there may be some last minute tweaking but take this as our starting point. Evening groups will be studying the book of Isaiah.
Roll Revision:

The Session is in the process of revising and updating the church rolls. A major reason for this is that we plan to put a motion at the next Annual Congregational Meeting to start procedures to change Andy Buchan’s status from assistant to associate minister. This can only happen through a “Call” process which is based on the votes of the official Communicant Members. This is a good time to think about official membership and being able to participate in this important process. Please see Don or Andy or one of the elders if you would like to be on the Communicant’s roll.

Easter Friday:

The Session agreed to accept an invitation to join with three other churches (Eltham Baptist, The Vine Baptist Hurstbridge, and Southern Cross Community Church) for a combined service on Good Friday . We have the strong support of the local mayor who is advocating the erection of a large cross in Eltham the week or so before. It is a good way to show Christian unity and witness in our community. We are still considering whether to meet back here for morning tea afterwards. More details to follow.

Evergreens:

Come along this Wednesday, February 21 to hear Easter Azali talk about the difficulties she faced as a mother in Iran. All welcome – 1:30 to 3:30 in the hall. Afternoon tea will follow as usual.
LIFT:

Our women’s ministry is re-launching this year with a dinner at Nongkhai Thai Eltham on Saturday March 10 at 7 pm. Please RSVP to Anne or on the sign-up sheet in the foyer. We look forward to a fun evening of fellowship with the ladies of Eltham PC.

Open Table:

ANDELE! ANDELE! ARRIBA! ARRIBA! It’s time to think about whether you’re coming to this month’s Open Table dinner! This time it’s MEXICAN! Safe Church Conference:

This is a one day conference held at Donvale Presbyterian Church on Feb 22. Cost is $30 – BYO lunch or pre-order at $12:50. For more information go to churchesofchrist.org.au/ChildProtectionWorkshop or pick up a flyer on the table.

Only Just Shop:

The Only Just shop in the Coles arcade in Eltham is looking for more volunteers to help run the shop. The shop is mainly staffed by volunteers from the local communities, meaning it can support more producer groups from around the developing world. Most Fair Trade traders only operate a website, so the shop means that people who want to support Fair Trade have a local option for buying handicrafts and gifts. Shifts are usually for 4 hours at a time, and can be once a month or more or less, depending on volunteers availability. Full training is given. Women’s Conference:
