As part of his obligations as the current moderator of the PCV, Robert White is our guest speaker today. His visit acts to remind us that we are linked in with many other Presbyterian Churches working together to serve and represent Jesus in Victoria.
Giving Target
Last year we set ourselves the goal of reaching $3,800 from weekly giving as the minimum we needed to be able to afford two full time workers without unduly dipping into our savings. The good news it that we have reached that target! Now the Board of Management can turn its attention to various upgrades and maintenance issues for the church, hall and manse. There are many things to do but they will be done in line with our budget and as funds allow.
Servanthood Roster
Melody is looking for more people to help out with the next roster (June to August) especially with the crèche roster and morning tea , to replace people who are unavailable for the period. Please speak to Melody, or send her an email.
Open Table
Next week, June 4 th starting at 5:30 pm . in the hall, it’s Soup Night. Please use the Connect Form to indicate if you will be coming, or if you can help before or after, with setting up and cleaning up, not necessarily both. COOKIES! Our Open Table tradition includes coffee and cookies after the meal. If you’d like to be on the cookie team, come chat to Taimi!
Youth Group
Will meet next Sunday, June 4th at 4:00pm. Also, save the date for Saturday June 17 th – Bonfire Night at the Armstrong’s residence.
Neighbour to Neighbour Resources
Please note there are some new books available in our lending library, dealing with contemporary issues such as marriage re-definition, a Christian approach to the euthanasia debate, and tackling questions about faith. Speak to Andy Buchan for more details.
