18th December 2016
Special Welcome: Today Josh Bouzanquet will be promoted to the rank of Captain as he takes his final steps towards his placement as an Army Chaplain in Darwin. Welcome to all the visitors for the special occasion.
Christmas Day: Please remember that our Christmas Day service is at 9:30am. The offering for the day will be a special offering for PresAID as we normally do each Christmas. Keep back what would be your regular Sunday offering for the following week. This year PresAID is sending our donations to build a water tank at ORBUS in Malawi and to India to fund a lecturer at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Dehradun.
Neighbour2Neighbour: Don, Andy and Josh have been working on a number of brochures to help us think about how each one of us is part of the EPC Gospel Team Spreading Hope Though Jesus to Eltham and Beyond. Draft copies of Getting Started and Every Home a Ministry Centre are now available.
January 1: Rev Len Pearce will be our guest speaker for the first Sunday of the year as both Don and Andy will be away for the week after Christmas.
Board of Management Elections: The final day for Nominations for Board elections is TODAY. The retiring members this time are David Burt, Robert Cameron, Melody Telley and David Timmins, who may be re-nominated subject to their approval. The members that were elected/appointed last time are Marie van Ravesteyn, David Graham, Garreth Le Page and Simon Armstrong, who come up for re election next year and should not now be nominated. Nomination forms are available.
mainly music Morning Tea Roster: On behalf of the team at mm we would like to thank all those who were able to provide such scrumptious morning teas each week in 2016. As the old saying goes: many hands make light work. For 2017 we are looking for a few new additional helpers to provide the morning tea goodies for the adults at Mainly Music (approx. 20). With our roster system, you would most likely only be required once each school term. If you are able to assist or if you require more information please speak with Helen Cameron or email her at helen.cameron@me.com
Fred Mitchell’s Photos: Fred has given us a number of his photos which are free for the taking. Perhaps a donation to PresAid would be good way to thank Fred. A donation box/basket will be available.
Bookstall: We have a selection of Christian books available for purchase in the hall. Great for Christmas gift ideas, or some summer reading. There is a range of material – personal and family devotional books, biographies, books on various issues of interest or tricky questions, books for all ages – young children, teens and youth, and adults. The bookstall will be available until the end of December, so enjoy having a browse and maybe saving you a trip out to Koorong!
